Dye production is generally divided into three steps:
1. Synthesis of dye intermediates
2. Dye intermediates produce dye powder through chemical reaction
3. Dye powder is processed to produce commercial dyes, that is, dye commercialization
Commodity dyes are not just dye powders, that is, in addition to dyes, commercial dyes will add other additives when dyes are commercialized. The following is a brief introduction to the ingredients added to dyes besides dyes when dyes are commercialized:
It should be the most commonly used auxiliary variety for dye commercialization. The general varieties are:
1. Sodium lignin sulfonate: Sodium lignin sulfonate is an anionic surfactant. It has strong dispersing ability and is suitable for dispersing solids in water media.
2. Dispersant NNO: The chemical names are sodium methylene dinaphthalene sulfonate and sodium methylene dinaphthalene sulfonate. Dispersant NNO is mainly used as a dispersant in disperse dyes, vat dyes, reactive dyes, acid dyes and leather dyes, with excellent grinding effect, solubility and dispersibility.
3. Dispersant MF: Methyl naphthalene sulfonic acid formaldehyde condensate, mainly used as a processing agent and dispersant for grinding disperse dyes and vat dyes, with better dispersing performance than dispersant NNO.
4. Dispersant CNF: α-benzylmethyl naphthalene sulfonic acid formaldehyde condensate, the main chemical component is benzyl naphthalene sulfonic acid formaldehyde condensate, and its high temperature resistance is the best among the three naphthalene sulfonic acid formaldehyde condensates.
5. Dispersant SS: Alkylbenzene sulfonic acid formaldehyde condensate, the main chemical component is a condensate of mixed cresol, naphthalene sulfonic acid and formaldehyde, mainly used for grinding disperse dyes.
In order to adjust the dye to the standard strength, add neutral fillers:
1. Sodium sulfate, also known as glauber powder, is basically added to various dyes; it has the advantage of low cost.
2. Dextrin, mainly used for cationic dyes.
In order to prevent the dye dust from flying, dust suppressants are usually added, generally including:
1. Mineral oil emulsion
2, alkyl stearate
The above additives are usually added to powder or granular dyes. If it is a liquid dye, thickeners (viscosity regulators), mildew inhibitors, chelating dispersants, non-volatile solvents, polyethylene glycol compounds, etc. are also added.
