From January to November 2021, the printing and dyeing industry generally continued the development trend of steady recovery, and the industry production continued to improve. The output of printing and dyeing fabrics of enterprises above designated size reached a new high in the same period since the "13th Five-Year Plan". The export scale of main products maintained rapid growth. Development quality and efficiency continued to improve. However, at the same time, the development environment faced by the industry has become more complex and severe. The epidemic and the tightening of global economic policies are expected to have a certain impact on the stable recovery of market demand. In addition, the prices of major raw materials in the industry are still fluctuating at a high level, the rising pressure on corporate costs has not yet eased, and the level of profitability is still low. The foundation for the stable development of the industry still needs to be further consolidated.

The positive trend of production continues to consolidate

According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to November 2021, the printing and dyeing cloth output of enterprises above designated size in the printing and dyeing industry was 54.996 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 15.12%, and an average increase of 5.89% in the two years. Since 2021, despite the complicated situation of the continuous spread of foreign epidemics and the spread of domestic epidemics, industry production has shown a good growth trend. In the first 11 months, the monthly output of printing and dyeing fabrics by enterprises above designated size has remained at a high level of more than 5 billion meters. As shown in Figure 1, the cumulative output has reached a new high in the same period since the "13th Five-Year Plan", and has exceeded the annual output in 2020. It is expected that the annual output of printing and dyeing fabrics in 2021 will exceed 60 billion meters.

Exports of major products maintained rapid growth

According to China Customs HS8-bit code statistics, from January to November 2021, the export volume of eight categories of printing and dyeing products was 25.352 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 22.64%, and an average increase of 2.12% in the two years; the export value was 25.583 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 28.78%, two years. The average annual increase was 1.57%; the average unit price of exports was 1.01 US dollars/meter, a year-on-year increase of 5.00%, and an average decrease of 0.49% in the two years. Although since the second half of the year, with the improvement of the base in the same period of the previous year, the export volume and export value of the eight major categories of printing and dyeing products have slowed down, but they have remained at a high level of more than 20%; The number has shown a slight acceleration since July, indicating that the international market demand for printing and dyeing products has gradually recovered.
