Reasons And Solutions for Poor Initial Waterproof Performance of Waterproof Agents

1. Reasons:

Through experiments, it is believed that the main reasons for poor initial waterproof performance are nothing more than three:

⑴ Processing cloth; insufficient cleaning of scouring or dyed cloth, and residual scouring agents, leveling agents, dispersants, penetrants and other auxiliaries on the cloth.

⑵Working fluid problem, improper concentration or concentration changes during processing; or, the working fluid is affected by mechanical stirring, temperature, and the combination of agents, and the stability is affected. Another reason is the improper preparation sequence of the working fluid and the pH value of the bath fluid.

⑶Reasons related to processing conditions, improper selection, or insufficient and uneven drying and baking conditions.

2. Solutions

⑴. Before waterproofing, the processed cloth should be fully washed.

⑵ Choose the one suitable for processing fibers, and continuously add the newly prepared working fluid during processing as much as possible. Strengthen the temperature management of the processed cloth, and the drying temperature should not exceed 130℃ to avoid previous cross-linking. Avoid the hot cloth after drying directly entering the studio. Understand the compatibility of the combination of waterproof agents, prepare the working fluid correctly according to the preparation sequence, and the prepared working fluid should be used within 24 hours.

⑶The drying and baking temperatures should be uniform, and the baking temperature should not be too low, generally above 150℃.
