1. Monochrome: Purity and Uniformity

A monochrome, also known as a "solid color" or "natural color," refers to a single, uniform color on the surface of a fabric or item, without any other colors.

Features:

Consistency: The most prominent characteristic is a uniform, unified color, resulting in a strong sense of unity.

Purity: The visual effect is simple, elegant, and stable.

Relatively Simple Process: Dyeing typically uses a single dye or a set of pre-mixed dyes, resulting in a straightforward process.

Applications:

Commonly used in applications that require highlighting fabric texture, emphasizing tailoring, or pursuing a minimalist, sophisticated look. Examples include classic dress shirts (such as pure white or navy blue), uniforms, and many home furnishings (such as solid-color bed sheets).


2. Block Color: Fusion and Creativity

Block color refers to the process of mixing two or more different dyes in precise proportions to achieve a desired color, or to the resulting effect of a combination of multiple colors. Features:

Creativity: By mixing a limited number of basic dyes (such as the three primary colors), an infinite variety of colors can be created. The vast majority of commercially available colors are blends of colors.

Technical Requirements: Highly technical skills are required, requiring precise calculation of dye ratios and consideration of dye compatibility to ensure color accuracy and reproducibility.

Complexity: The process is more complex, requiring a cycle of "proofing-proofing-adjustment" to match the target color card.

Applications:

Color Creation: Almost all non-primary colors require blends, such as complex shades of green, purple, and brown.

Color Matching: Accurately reproducing specific customer-specified color samples (such as Pantone color card numbers).

Special Effects: Creating fashionable effects such as melange, space dyeing, and cross dyeing.
