The Origin of Reactive Dyes

Introduction

The origins of reactive dyes include Puchian, Remdesine, and Lihuashi.

1. Procian

In 1954, I.D. Rattee and W.E. Stephen of the British Imperial Chemical Industry (established in 1926, also known as ICI) discovered that dichlorotriazine dyes covalently bonded to cellulose fibers under alkaline conditions, and applied for the first patent for reactive dyes.

In 1956, ICI officially released its first active dye product, the International Dye Index Number: C I. Reactive Red 1. Dye product name: Procion RED MX-2B. The Chinese name of this dye brand is Procian.

In 1993, ICI Chemical's dye division was restructured into a new company, Jelicon; Later, BASF in Germany acquired the dye division of Benem Jelicon; In 2000, Desda acquired BASF's dye division, and Pushan's PX series of reactive printing dyes and durable silk dye series continue to be used today.

2. Remazol

The Main River, a tributary of the Rhine River, is located in Frankfurt on the banks of the Main River. Hoechst, a German dye company, was founded here in 1863. In 1958, Mr. Lei was born at Hearst Company. Hearst Dyes applied vinyl sulfone based reactive dyes to cellulose fibers and named them Remazol.

By calculation, Remazol has a history of 64 years, and FL yellow, the only active fluorescent dye in the world, is one of the classic dyes of remazol.

The "foolproof" active light ternary "RR series" and the medium ternary "RGB series" are still the benchmarks for reactive dyes to this day.

In 1995, Hirst Company merged with Bayer's dye division, and Mr. Remasu joined the new company "Dystar", which remains the main force of Dystar's dye division to this day. The SAM series of remazol, which balances fastness and performance, is worth understanding and applying.

3. Levafix

Wuppertal is located in the Ruhr area of North Rhine Westphalia in western Germany. In 1863 (the same year as Hirst's establishment), Friedrich Bayer and Johan Friedrich Weskott founded the Bayer Dyestuff Company in Bamen, Wuppertal.

In 1961, nearly 100 years after its establishment, Bayer named the new dichloroquinoline structured reactive dye "Levafix".

Ms. Lihua Shi has better fastness than Mr. Lei Ma Su, especially in terms of sun resistance. It is worth mentioning that levafixi has a very blue reactive blue E-FFN.

In 1995, Bayer merged with Hirst's dye division, and Ms. levafix and Mr. remazol joined the same company, Dystar, which still shines in the dye industry today.
