Nylon is the Chinese name for the synthetic fiber nylon. The translated name is also called "nylon" and "nylon". The scientific name is polyamidefibre, that is, polyamide fiber. It is the earliest synthetic fiber variety in the world. Due to its excellent performance and abundant raw material resources, it has been widely used.
It is strong and wear-resistant, ranking first among all fibers. Its wear resistance is 10 times that of cotton fiber, 10 times that of dry viscose fiber, and 140 times that of wet fiber. Therefore, its durability is excellent.
Nylon fabric has excellent elasticity and elastic recovery, but it is easy to deform under small external force, so its fabric is easy to wrinkle during wearing.
Poor ventilation and air permeability, easy to generate static electricity.
The hygroscopicity of nylon fabric is a better variety among synthetic fiber fabrics, so clothes made of nylon are more comfortable to wear than polyester clothes.
It has good moth resistance and corrosion resistance.
The heat and light resistance are not good enough, and the ironing temperature should be controlled below 140℃. During the use of the fabric, attention should be paid to the washing and maintenance conditions to avoid damaging the fabric.
Nylon fabric is a light fabric, which is only listed after polypropylene and acrylic fabrics in synthetic fiber fabrics. Therefore, it is suitable for making mountaineering clothes, winter clothing, etc.
The most common nylon products on the market are nylon 6 and nylon 66.
Nylon 6: The full name is polycaprolactam fiber, which is polymerized by caprolactam.
Nylon 66: The full name is polyhexamethylene adipamide fiber, which is polymerized by adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine.
Generally speaking, nylon 66 feels better than nylon 6, and nylon 66 is more comfortable than nylon 6, but it is difficult to distinguish nylon 6 from nylon 66 on the surface.
The common characteristics of nylon 6 and nylon 66: poor light resistance, strength decreases and color turns yellow under long-term sunlight and ultraviolet light; its heat resistance is not good enough. At 150℃, it turns yellow after 5 hours, and its strength and elongation decrease significantly, and shrinkage increases. Nylon 6 and 66 filaments have good low-temperature resistance. When it is below minus 70℃, its resilience does not change much. Its DC conductivity is very low, and it is easy to generate static electricity due to friction during processing. Its conductivity increases with the increase of moisture absorption rate, and increases according to the law of exponential function with the increase of humidity. Nylon 6 and 66 filaments have strong resistance to microbial action, and its resistance to microbial action in silt water or alkali is second only to chlorofiber. In terms of chemical properties, nylon 6 and 66 filaments are resistant to alkali and reducing agents, but have poor performance in acid resistance and oxidant resistance.
Nylon fiber fabrics can be divided into three categories: pure spinning, blended spinning and interwoven fabrics, and each category contains many varieties.
Various fabrics made of nylon yarn, such as nylon taffeta, nylon crepe, etc. Because it is made of nylon filament, it has the characteristics of smooth hand feeling, durability, and moderate price, but it also has the disadvantages of easy wrinkling and difficult recovery.
Taslon is a kind of nylon fabric, including jacquard taslon, honeycomb taslon, full matte taslon, etc. Uses: high-end clothing fabrics, ready-made clothing fabrics, golf clothing fabrics, high-end down jacket fabrics, highly waterproof and breathable fabrics, multi-layer composite fabrics, functional fabrics, etc.
① Jacquard Taslon: The warp yarn is made of 76dtex (70D nylon filament, and the weft yarn is made of 167dtex (150D nylon air-deformed yarn; the fabric organization adopts a double flat jacquard structure to be interwoven on a water jet loom. The fabric width is 165cm, and the weight per square meter is 158g. There are varieties of different shades of colors such as purple, grass green, and light green. The fabric has the advantages of not easy to fade and wrinkle, and strong color fastness.
② Honeycomb Taslon: The warp yarn of the fabric is made of 76dtex nylon FDY, and the weft yarn is made of 167dtex nylon air-deformed yarn. The warp and weft density is 430/10cm×200/10cm. It is interwoven on a water jet loom with a faucet. The basic double-layer plain weave organization is used, and the cloth surface forms a honeycomb grid. The grey cloth is first relaxed and refined, alkali-reduced, dyed, and then After softening and shaping treatment. The fabric has the characteristics of good air permeability, dry feel, soft and elegant, comfortable to wear, etc.
③ Full matte taslon: The warp yarn of the fabric uses 76dtex full matte nylon-6FDY, and the weft yarn uses 167dtex full matte nylon air-deformed yarn. The most prominent advantage is that it is comfortable to wear, warm and breathable.
Nylon spinning (silk is also called nylon spinning, which is a spinning silk fabric woven from nylon filament. Nylon spinning that has been bleached, dyed, printed, calendered, and embossed has a smooth and fine fabric, a smooth silk surface, a soft feel, light and thin, strong and wear-resistant, bright color, easy to wash and dry quickly.
Twill is a fabric with clear oblique lines on the surface woven with twill tissue, including brocade/cotton khaki, gabardine, and craudin. Among them, brocade / Cotton khaki has the characteristics of thick and tight cloth, tough and crisp, clear texture and wear resistance.
Nylon Oxford cloth, warp and weft are woven with coarse denier (167-1100dtex nylon filament, plain weave structure, the product is woven by water jet loom. After dyeing and coating, the grey cloth has the advantages of soft hand feel, strong drape, novel style, waterproof, etc., and the cloth mask has the nylon silk luster effect.
The fabric obtained by blending or interweaving nylon filament or staple fiber with other fibers has the characteristics of various fibers.
There are two blending ratios of viscose/nylon gabardine, one is 15% nylon and 85% viscose fiber; the other is 25% nylon and 75% viscose fiber. The warp and weft yarns are all made of Blended yarn is a 2/2 twill fabric. The warp density of this fabric is nearly twice that of the weft density, so the fabric is thick and tight, tough and durable. The surface is smooth and shiny. The disadvantages are poor elasticity, easy to wrinkle, low wet strength, large shrinkage, hardening when washed, and easy to sag when worn.
Viscose/nylon nylon, called nylon plain weave, has two ratios of 15% nylon, 85% viscose fiber and 25% nylon, 75% viscose fiber, blended into a double-stranded fabric. It adopts plain weave, the front and back sides look the same, and the feel is refreshing, but not soft enough, and the gloss is second only to gabardine.
Viscose/nylon serge, also known as nylon serge, belongs to 2/2 twill weave. Its appearance is similar to gabardine, and its warp density is 40% smaller than gabardine, and the weft density is close. Since the surface of serge is flatter than gabardine, the grain is wider, and the interlacing points are clearly visible, but the hand feel is not as good as gabardine, and the strength and gloss are poor.
Viscose/brocade/wool tweed is a worsted woolen fabric, mostly plain tweed, referred to as three-in-one tweed. It is blended in a ratio of 4:4:2. Since yarns with different twist directions are used as warp and weft yarns, the fabric shows patterns on the surface due to the reflection of light.
Brocade/viscose/elastic grosgrain is made of spandex nylon coated yarn as raw material for warp yarn, woven on a jet loom, and the grey fabric is relaxed, desized → alkali treated → dyed (using reactive dyes and disperse dyes) → shaped and finished. This product has both the style of viscose fiber fabrics and the gloss effect of nylon fabrics, as well as the elastic function of spandex fabrics; the fabric has a cotton texture, comfort, and stretchability.
